Well our trip started with a ride on the bullet train. It was so nice...like an airplane ride, but not really. We were in Kyoto by 11:00 so we had plenty of time to start our exploration of the sites. I'm standing next to the bamboo forest and Phil is posing at the Tenruji Temple.
